ABOUT THE PIPE

Embracing my Mexican Heritage and culture in a circular work of art, these tiny Mexican Ground Squirrels captivated my mind when biking along the road using a trail to work on Col. Rowe (2nd Street) in McAllen, Texas. These tiny creatures teach us not only to burrow deep into our hearts to find inspiration and shelter; they also represent family and harmony with others to become a part of the community. Uniquely, with a row of nine white spotted markings commonly confused with a Chipmunk; these Mexican ground squirrels can scurry past your sight without even a notice, similarly like this tiny perfectly quaint irrigation pipe. This work of art can honestly only be breathtakingly viewed in person because its intricate nature. Also accompanied by a companion painting “Ladybug Oasis” a tiny short walk to the nearby water pipe on the right, also painted in Summer 2023.
