Sundown has always been my favorite part of the day. The colors that appear in the sky are inspiring and create a true sense of wonder. My inspiration for this artwork came from so many places but originally from a photo of a sun setting in the backdrop of a line of palm trees. A vision we all get to enjoy from so many perspectives here in the RGV. As I began to paint, it took on more of a feeling I get from watching the sun set on South Padre Island. I know that most would agree that the island is very much a part of all of us growing up here and having the privilege of this beautiful escape being so nearby. -
